Researching Problems

Finding Solutions

Creating Commercial Opportunities

EN.663.653 Innovation and Entrepreneurship

In this class, student teams develop technology solutions to help address actual national security problems by learning how to apply startup principles (e.g., “business model canvas,” “customer development,” and “agile engineering”) to discover and validate customer needs and to build iterative prototypes to refine and validate problem and solution.

Teams take a hands-on approach requiring close engagement with actual military, Department of Defense, and other government agency end-users. Student teams then continue their work by taking their solutions and creating commercial opportunities.
